Typology/Elements
Hospital:
The hospital is a complex of different premises that were added to the main building (a renaissance style edifice) during different centuries (16th-20th).
The oldest part of the complex, the one that is touching the church, is where the nunnery is located still today.
In the main floor there is an original Gothic arch and a reconstructed one, also a large renaissance window by the main square and a portal with the same architectonic details.
During the first years of the 20th century a new floor was added following the same composition of the original façade: Openings with a framed cornice and imbrication. From that period is, also, the expansion of the hospital, which was made following the modernism trend of the beginning of the century.
The Church was built following a very unpretentious baroque style. The church is composed by a nave with barrel vault and traverse arches linked by pilasters, as a result of an extension to gain length and height.
The main façade has a classic portal, a composition of columns and a curb pediment with a rosette on top of it and couple of symmetric and squared towers flank it.
