Harp's kiosk

The kiosk is located in the Plaza de Fius and Palà at the beginning of Carrer del Born, in a pedestrian priority area.

Typology/Elements

Modernist kiosk, which forms a harmonious set with the modernist house, "ca la Buresa", located in the same square. Its typology is typical of the beginning of the century, when cities become part of the economic and bourgeois development. It is an isolated, small-sized building that had and intends to sell newspapers and magazines. It is of square plant, of dimensions of 2.20 x 2'20m. with an inner height of 3.2m. Its structure has a classicizing air and three parts must be clearly distinguished. First of all a carved stone base with geometrical and floral motifs, a body of wood and glass, which resolves the transition to the roof by means of an ornamental strip conceived as a capital. And finally the cover with vault of tube in the form of cross, of aluminum embossed. The construction culminates with elements worked in iron, which gives slim to the set.
The space is currently used as a tourist information point.
